What Makes My Continuing Education Different? My continuing education courses are built on more than 30 years of hands-on experience as a manual therapy practitioner, Structural Integrator, movement educator, and massage therapy continuing education instructor. I am an NCBTMB Approved Continuing Education Provider and have provided continuing education recognized by multiple state massage therapy boards. My professional background combines advanced Structural Integration, myofascial therapy, movement education, corrective exercise, yoga, and athletic performance. My Structural Integration education has given me a direct connection to some of the important lineages in the profession. I am a Guild for Structural Integration Certified Advanced Structural Integrator, with advanced training connected to Emmett Hutchins, one of the pioneering educators who helped preserve and develop the work of Dr. Ida P. Rolf. I am also a KMI Certified Structural Integrator through Tom Myers. My clinical experience ranges from working in private practice with everyday clients to serving as a manual therapist with the medical team supporting athletes at the 1996 Olympic Games. This experience has taught me that technique alone is not enough. Practitioners need to understand how fascia, posture, movement, sensory input, breathing, and the nervous system interact. Why Study With Me? My goal is to help massage therapists move beyond simply learning another collection of techniques. Students learn to see, feel, assess, and work with the body as an integrated system. Fascia provides structural continuity throughout the body and plays an important role in body shape, force transmission, proprioception, movement, and sensory communication. My courses explore fascia manipulation in relation to posture, mobility, functional movement, and the interaction of the fascial system with the musculoskeletal, nervous, autonomic, lymphatic, and visceral systems. Rather than forcing tissue into a predetermined position, I teach practitioners to listen through their hands, recognize the direction in which fascial layers can move and glide, appropriately position the body, apply precise pressure, and incorporate active client movement. This creates a more interactive approach to manual therapy and Structural Integration. My additional education as an ISSA Certified Fitness Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist and as a certified yoga teacher allows me to integrate hands-on therapy with functional movement, mobility, breathing, and corrective exercise. Students learn not only how to work with tissue on the table, but also how to help clients integrate change into movement. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to teach and present internationally and at major professional massage therapy events, including the World Massage Festival, FSMTA State Convention, AMTA state conventions in Alabama and Mississippi, Canadian massage conferences in Calgary and Toronto, and the American Massage Conference. A Lineage of Experience — A Modern Approach My teaching respects the Structural Integration lineage of Emmett Hutchins while integrating contemporary understanding of fascia, neuroscience, movement, and functional anatomy. Students study with me because they want more than techniques. They want to develop better hands, better observation skills, better movement assessment, and a deeper understanding of how the human body functions as an interconnected whole. My goal is to help massage therapists become more skilled, confident, and thoughtful practitioners—able to integrate fascia manipulation, Structural Integration principles, posture, mobility, and functional movement into their own professional practice. 30+ years of experience. A respected Structural Integration lineage. International education. Practical techniques students can use immediately. Continuing Education From Weekend Workshops to Professional Certification I teach continuing education workshops throughout the United States and Canada, ranging from focused 4-hour CE courses to comprehensive 35-hour advanced trainings. My courses are designed for massage therapists, myofascial practitioners, Structural Integrators, and other qualified manual therapy professionals who want to expand their understanding of fascia manipulation, posture, mobility, and functional movement. In addition to shorter continuing education programs, I teach an annual 300-hour Synergetic Structural Integration- Practitioner Certification Program. This comprehensive professional training brings together Structural Integration principles, fascia manipulation, functional anatomy, postural and movement assessment, nervous-system awareness, mobility, corrective movement, and hands\-on clinical application. The 300-hour certification allows students to progress beyond individual techniques and learn how to organize their work into a systematic, whole-body approach.Students develop their ability to assess structure and movement, recognize fascial relationships throughout the body, work through different fascial layers, and integrate hands-on work with movement\. My educational programs therefore offer a pathway for practitioners at different stages of their careers—from a therapist attending a 4 hour introductory or specialty workshop to an experienced practitioner pursuing advanced training and the 300\-hour Synergetic Structural Integration Practitioner Certification. I have taught continuing education and Structural Integration internationally for many years, and my goal remains the same: to give practitioners practical hands\-on skills while teaching them to see and understand the body as an interconnected structural, fascial, neurological, and movement system.
